Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship

fall 2014

Two months in residence at the National Air and Space (NASM) museum and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center researching the design history of American aeronautics, with special reference to the technical and cultural notions that have influenced the changing appearance of airplanes and the concept of speed over time.                                                     (Click the image to go to the project site)

 

 

Desert Design Lab

winter 2013

Supported by the John D. Mineck Furniture Fellowship this project traveled across the country for two months in an RV trailer (a mobile studio) spending extended time in remote desert landscapes/eco-systems to gather images and textures in developing my Desert Impressions work also inviting a handful of artist/designers/writers/craftsmen to collaborate with me in these locations. The collaborations and and work continues to unfold.
